Adoption Process
What to Expect
- Puppy Inquiry: We will respond to your puppy inquiry via chat, text message, phone, or social media message and answer any questions you may have to help you choose your puppy.
- Puppy Application: You will be asked to complete a Puppy Application with ID Verification, which will be reviewed for approval.
- Puppy Meet & Greet: Once approved, a virtual meet and greet will be scheduled with you and your puppy.
- Reserve Puppy: Once you commit to a puppy, a non-refundable deposit will be required, and a contract will need to be signed.
River City Doxies’ puppies are available to go to their new homes starting at 8-9 weeks old after they have received their full veterinarian exam and initial round of vaccinations. For the safety of your new puppy, we ask that you limit the places they may go until they are fully vaccinated and on heart worm and flea and tick prevention medication. - Updates: Once you have placed a deposit on the puppy you have chosen, we will be in contact with you on a weekly basis, sending pictures and video updates.
- Puppy Pick Up: When it is time to pick up your puppy, the remainder of balance is due 2 business days prior to pickup unless explicitly stated beforehand.
- Puppy Transition: Puppies go home with a Premier Pampered Puppy Pack, a kit to aid in minimizing anxiety and support a smooth and seamless transition.

Transport
We offer puppy transport services based on your needs. Several puppy pick up options are available.

- Flight Nanny (service fee)
If you want to use a separate transport service, we will help you locate one that fits your needs. It is the buyer’s responsibility to cover transportation costs.
Please be advised that our dogs are not shipped via airline cargo. They may fly in cabin with a Flight Nanny or with you.
